JMB mufflers are individually hand crafted from aluminium sheet. The sheet is rolled and joined using the hard soldering method.
There are four internal chambers that guarantee maximum noise reduction. Each of three internal walls has number of inner tubes soldered into them with diameters large enough to allow free flow of any oil residuals coming from the exhaust port.
The mufflers are painted with special paint which hardens the aluminium surface and serves as a temperature indicator. During motor recommended running temperatures the surface of the muffler turns into a mat finish. However if the motor overheats for extended periods, the paint will start to slowly peel off highlighting there is a serious overheating problem.
There are number of methods to fix the muffler in place, however the easiest and the most effective is by sliding a 20 mm long silicone tube over the mounting tip at the end of the muffler, and then insert this end into a plywood, softwood or hardwood bracket through a predrilled hole.
Also available smaller three chamber mufflers that are specifically designed for the 40cc petrol motors. The headers are made for the left hand side exhaust port which is the most common.
